The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Matane has expressed rude shock and sadness over the death of the former Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Emmanuel Babur.
Babur, who is the Director General of Special Projects died Tuesday in Abuja at the age of 47, after a brief illness.
In his condolence message, the SSG described Babur’s death as unexpected and unfortunate, particularly at this period when Niger State and, indeed, Nigeria need his experience and expertise.
Matane noted that the tenure of the late Babur as Commissioner of Youth and Sports, during the first term of Governor Abubakar Bello, witnessed tremendous achievements and developments in the sector.
The SSG said, “the Niger State government is saddened by the loss of Babur, our respected Director General and former Commissioner of Youth and Sports. He was a man of intellect, talent and deep conviction who will be solely missed.”
“On behalf of the people and government of Niger State, I commiserate with the immediate family of the deceased on this huge loss, may the Good Lord grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and give the family, friends and associates the fortitude to bear the loss.”
