As the battle for the 2020/21 Nigeria professional Football League gathers momentum, two top North Central soccer gladiators, Nasarawa United FC of Lafia and the pride of Benue State, Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi are among the Pace setters for the league diadem in the current campaign.
Voicesports report that the two North Central soccer outfits are leaving no stone unturned by challenging league leaders, Rivers United for the title. The Port Harcourt side occupies the summit with 12 points from five matches, Nasarawa United follows closely with 11points, while Lobi Stars is third with 10 points plus four goals superior from same number of matches.
Lobi Stars FC after going down 0-1 to Ifeanyi Ubah in their opening league match, has bounced back to reckoning by winning their double home matches 1-0 against MFM Lagos and an emphatic 3-0 over Warri Wolves. Lobi Stars further secured a point on the road by drawing 2-2 away against Owena Waves, Sunshine Stars Akure, before beating hard fighting Dakkada FC Uyo 2-1 in Makurdi.
Lobi’s unprecedented performance is credited to the sound Coaching prowess of Coach Kabiru Dogo one of the finest tacticians on the domestic front.
The Kwara state born soccer tactician further hinted that he is working hard towards fashioning out a formidable team that would navigate the NPFL for the title or a probable top three finish for a place in the CAF inter club championship next season. He described Lobi Stars FC’s performances as work in progress.
