Benue State House of Assembly (BNHOA) has assured that, the 2023 budget will work in the interest of the people of the state.
Speaker, BNHOA, Titus Uba made this known recently when declaring a three-day budget retreat organized by Benue State government in conjunction with Fateman Enterprises Limited for members and staff of the state Assembly open in Abuja.
Represented by his deputy, Christopher Adaji, the speaker charged participants to leverage on the lectures by the resource persons to improve on their knowledge on budget and parliamentary processes for the development of the state.
He also solicited for useful and valuable inputs from participants to the 2023 Appropriation Bill, in order to make Benue state better after its implementation.
The speaker noted that, the 2023 Appropriation bill christened “Budget of Consolidation and Transition” is aimed at consolidating on the gains of the present administration and also prepare grounds for a smooth transition of governance to a new administration when it emerges next year.
He applauded Governor Samuel Ortom for working to ensure a better Benue and securing the future of the state, as well as sustaining the sponsorship of the retreat.
“I appeal for its expansion to include all secretaries of the various house standing committees and key departmental staff of the Assembly,” he stated.
The speaker called for collective efforts towards effective implementation of the appropriation bill when finally passed into law and assented to by the governor, in order to move the state to higher height.
Earlier, Consultant of Fateman Enterprises Limited, David Mwar, represented by the Project Coordinator, Prof. Jerome Andohol said, the retreat sought to analyze 2023 appropriation bill with a view to giving Benue people the best and urged participants to pay adequate attention to the lectures.
