Erstwhile Chairman, Board of Directors, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Chief Patrick Ogbu, the Ogblo-Abor of Igumale, has joined the race for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for 2023 Benue Governorship election. He is also the Secretary, Forum of Benue PDP Governorship Aspirants 2023.
Ogbu met with the State Working Committee of the PDP in Makurdi recently, where he informed the committee of his decision to run for the Benue number one job.
Ogbu told the PDP leadership that his administration, when formed will prioritise revenue generation, infrastructural development, health, education, agriculture, pension matters, tourism, entrepreneurship and security.
While promising to deliver a Benue that would be home to the peoples of the state, the former NTA board chairman said the state under his leadership would strive to harness the state’s resources to enhance growth, vibrant, dynamic and reliable economy.
State Chairman of the party, John Ngbede, assured him of the party’s commitment for a level playing field for all aspirants.
In his remark, Dr Francis Otta Agbo, representative of Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu (PDP) Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives said Ogbu is qualified in every aspect to run the race.
The federal lawmaker noted that by joining the race, Ogbu has shown that the people of Idoma and Ado in particular are ready and set to be Governor of Benue State come 2023.
He said the people of Benue South are holding talks with the people of Benue North East and North West for probable power shift to the zone.
A member of Policy, Strategy and Leadership Course (PSLC) II of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru (2013), Chief Ogbu holds a Master degree in Public Administration.
He was appointed to chair the NTA Board in 2023 by President Goodluck Jonathan.
