Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has given assurances that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win all the elections in the 2023 general elections in the state.
The governor stated this Monday during a strategic meeting of the PDP Campaign Management Committee held at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi.
The governor explained that the meeting was called so that the campaign committee in the state will strategize and work towards winning the 2023 elections in the state.
Governor Ortom who frowned at the inability of the leadership of the party at the national level to address the internal crisis rocking the party, stressed that equity, fairness, and justice were the tools the leadership needs in resolving the lingering crisis.
“It is not just the five governors who are aggrieved, but several former governors and prominent stakeholders of the PDP are also unhappy over the happenings at the national level of the party,” he stated.
He emphasized that at the state level, PDP had no crisis and was very much on ground. “Anyone who wants to create problems in the state has me to contend with. The party is working tirelessly to achieve success in the 2023 elections.
“Presently, in the state, the party has 276 councillors, 23 local government chairmen, 26 members of the state House of Assembly out of 30 members, eight (8) House of Representatives members out of 11 members, and three (3) Senators out of three (3).
“The PDP at the state level is confident of victory. All politics is local. As a party, we will strategize at the local level to achieve success in 2023,” he maintained.
