As campaign activities for the 2023 general elections gather momentum, Wife of Benue State Governor, Dr Eunice Ortom has charged women in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to work as a team, in order to achieve landslide victory for the party.

“Team spirit makes it easier for a group to achieve more,” Dr Ortom stated, stressing that women are good mobilisers, who have been known for contributing to success in political elections.

The First Lady said this Tuesday, while hosting a political group called Benue Women for PDP, in the Banquet Hall of Benue People’s House, Makurdi. She attributed her success as the first lady to women and emphasised the need for women to continue to support each other in good causes.

Earlier, State Coordinator of Women in Benue for PDP, Prof. Magdalene Dura said the group has structures at state, LGA, wards and all polling units across the state to facilitate easy mobilisation.

Prof. Dura, who presented the group to the first lady, pledged its preparedness to support her in mobilising support for her husband and all PDP candidates in the state.

Contributing separately, zonal coordinators of the group from the three senatorial districts of Benue State: Mwuese Ubebe for Zone A, Mrs Dorcas Ukpe for Zone B and Mrs Lydia Ukwori for Zone C said the group was poised to work assiduously for the party as a way of rewarding Mrs Ortom for her role in elevating women of the state in political leadership.
