The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has urged its supporters to embark on grassroots mobilisation and door-to-door campaign to enable the party to win elections in the 2023.
The state Chairman of the party, Dr John Mamman gave the charge on Tuesday when a group under the aegis of Initiative for AA Sule 2023 paid him a courtesy visit at the party’s secretariat in Lafia.
According to him, Governor Abdullahi Sule’s achievements, especially in the areas of security, infrastructure and attracting investments for economic development of the state were glaring but should be taken to the grassroots level for people to understand better.
“As a party, we have already passed a vote of confidence on the governor because of his vision and mission.
“He is transparent and running the administration of the state with sincerity of purpose. That is why Nasarawa is among the first 10 states in terms of Internal Revenue Generation (IGR).
“It takes a man who has the people’s interest at heart to do all what the governor is doing in the state. He has indeed touched the lives of the people of the state,” he said.
The chairman expressed optimism that the governor would emerge victorious at forthcoming election due to his track records in the state and country at large.
Mamman, however, said that the party would not relent as electioneering campaign starts, to take the message to all nooks and crannies of the state.
He, therefore, thanked the group for the efforts in trying to actualise the re-election bid of Governor Sule and charged them to be committed to the course.
Earlier, the Chairman of the group, Engr Moses Utondu said they were at the APC state secretariat to inform the party chairman in the state of their readiness to work for the re-election of Governor Sule.
Utondu, who is also the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the governor on Security Matters, said the group comprised of political appointees and other APC stakeholders in the state and has structures from the state level down to the polling units.
According to him, the achievements of the governor in the last three years have greatly impacted the people and improved the rating of Nasarawa State on several fronts.
He said the group was saddled with the sole responsibility of sensitising the people to vote for Sule given his track record of achievements.
“We believe that in our individual capacities, we are doing well but harnessing our talents will enhance the return of AA Sule for second term.
“It is one thing to perform and another for the people to know. So, it’s our duty to preach about his performance to those yet to come to terms with his achievements,” he said.
He, therefore, assured that as political appointees of the governor, they will do their best to propagate his achievements to ensure the reelection of the governor in 2023.
