2023: Nasarawa APC inaugurates Sule/Akabe governorship campaign council

A 385-man campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has been inaugurated for the re-election bid of Governor Abdullahi Sule and his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe in the 2023 general elections.

Performing the inauguration ceremony held on Saturday in Lafia, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, charged the campaign council to work in unity to secure the re-election of Sule, as well as the presidential candidate of APC, Bola Tinubu, among other candidates of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Gambari said it was the president’s desire that the APC retains all the positions it currently occupies and should even claim more in the forthcoming general elections.

He said that the administration of Buhari was committed to sustaining safety and security, revitalisation of agriculture and diversification of the economy, provision of infrastructure and fighting corruption.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to a number of principles. He is committed to the safety and security of this country. He is committed to the revitalisation of agriculture and diversifying the economy of this country.

“He is committed to leaving this country in a much safer and prosperous way. A country where probity, good conduct and transparency is the key.

“The legacy that the president is going to be leaving are legacies of infrastructure, power, diversified economy and a safer country,” he said.

He, called on the people of the state to support all APC candidates for various positions in Nasarawa State to consolidate the achievements so far recorded.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu said the presidential candidate of the party has been tested and trusted in the areas of human capital development, and improved revenue generation and is a man of ideas.

“Bola Tinubu served as a governor of Lagos and he made its economy and the entire system working again and would replicate that in the country by the grace of God,” Adamu said.

He, assured that the presidential candidate would make the country better security-wise and make its economy the best in Africa if elected as president in 2023.

The APC national chairman also called on the people to vote for Governor Sule again to consolidate his laudable achievements in security, agriculture, infrastructure, human capital development, better welfare for workers, and employment generation among others.

He expressed optimism that APC will win the election in the state, come 2023.

On his part, Governor Sule lauded the people of the state for their support of him in the 2019 election and appealed to them to support him, the presidential candidate, and other candidates of the party in the 2023 election.

Sule also said that despite that the state government under his watch has impacted the lives of the people in various sectors, they would not be overconfident.

He explained said that apart from the 385-man council, they would also constitute another council in all the polling units and electoral wards in the state.

“This campaign council is the beginning and others are going to be formed at the local government councils. That is where the work is and that is where our attention will be,” he said.

The governor, thereby, distributed over 30 vehicles, over 300 motorcycles, 20 wheelchairs to person living with disabilities to enable them reach out to all the polling units to campaign for the success of the party.
