The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu has pledged to run an all-inclusive government if voted as the next governor of the state in the 2023 governorship election.
Ombugadu, who made the pledge at the PDP campaign rally held in Keffi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state on Saturday, promised to work with all stakeholders, including elders of the party in Nasarawa West Senatorial District, in order to implement policies that will have direct impact on the people if given the mandate.
He, also assured that he would provide Keffi residents with 24 hours pipe borne water if elected as the next governor of the state.
According to him, he was aware of the persistent water supply challenges in Keffi LGA, assuring them that if elected, his first assignment for the area will be to provide for them.
“When I say water, you say 24 hours because that is one of the dividends of democracy we are bringing to Keffi township.
“What All Progressive Congress has failed to with regards to adequate water supply to Keffi, I want to assure you my administration will not fail you,” he said.
Ombugadu, appealed to eligible voters in the areas to resist the temptation of selfish politicians who tempt them with monetary inducements in exchange for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).
“If any of them come to you to tempt or deceive you with any amount for your PVC, please do not fall for their tricks.
“Instead catch and report them to the nearest law enforcement office close by or take a picture or do a video of them and post it on social media to serve as a lesson to others.
“Giving their massive failure in turning the lives of our people around, agents of the opposition will be going around to tempt you with cash for your PVC knowing that they will not get your votes in a free and fair process. Please don’t give in. Stand your ground and vote out failure,” he said.
Also speaking, Director General of Atiku/Okowa and Ombugadu/ Ohinoyi Campaign Council, Mr Labaran Maku, called on Keffi voters to be wary of agents of APC whom he claimed from information were going about inducing voters with N5000 for their PVCs.
“These people brought poverty and hunger yet we hear they are going about offering N5000 for your PVCs. Don’t accept it.
“I want to assure you all that PDP will win the governorship election in Nasarawa state with more than 70 percent of votes in our favour because people are tired of suffering under the APC leadership. Abdullahi Sule did not perform well,” he said.
In separate remarks, state Chairman of PDP, Mr Francis Orogu, former PDP Board of Trustee (BOT) Chairman, Sen. Walid Jibrin, among others appreciated supporters for coming out en masse for the rally and assured them that PDP will not fail them if voted in.
They also called on PDP supporters and other residents in Keffi to vote for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the governorship candidate in the state, Ombugadu and all PDP candidates to enable them emerge winners at the 2023 general elections.
