2023: SDP strategise in Benue

By James Shim

The Social Democratic Party (SD), Benue state chapter has began strategies to ensure that the party takes control of power in the state in 2023.

State Chairman of the Party, Engr John Enemari, disclosed this to newsmen on Saturday, immediately after the party’s meeting at Comfortavamo Hotel in Makurdi, Saturday.

The chairman in an interview said: “I called the meeting of local government party chairmen, State Working Committee and Expanded Exco to know the problems of the party in their areas as we begin strategies for 2023.”

“You know we are gearing towards taking over Benue State in 2023 and since we don’t have the big names we need to work hard. If the bigger parties are sleeping 24 hours, we need to work even if it means sleeping for three hours a day.”

He said, the findings in the meeting were “basically complaints about what happened during the 2018/19 general elections and I assured them that such things will never repeat in Benue SDP chapter.”

“I believe that God has approved that we are going to take over Benue and by extension, the national level.”

According to him, the party was keeping governorship aspirants under its platform close to her chest as a strategy in the mean time.

He expressed happiness with the turnout of the meeting saying, “it is an indication that the party was still united and strong with committed members in Benue State.”
