Benue State Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu has assured the Nigerian Air Force in Makurdi of the state government’s partnership, cooperation and support and also, to create an enabling environment, in order for them to discharge their duties in the state.

Engr Abounu gave the assurance recently in his office when the Commandant, Air Force War College, Makurdi, Dalhat Ladan,
paid him a courtesy visit.

He commended the Air Force, stating that their good gestures to the state needs to be reciprocated and that is why he avails himself for most of their activities.

Describing the Nigerian Air Force as one of the best in the world, in terms of organization, approach to duty and the environment under which they carry out their duties, the deputy governor stated that they have done tremendously well as far as the military is concerned.

He commended them for their efforts in combating insurgency in the state which he said as at the time, needed to be combated both on air and ground.

Engr Abounu also commended the Air Force for being particularly useful to the state in terms of health-care delivery services, education and security.

His words: “Honestly we are indebted to the Air Force Hospital, Makurdi. Each time we have a health hazard in the state we fall back on them.”

He also described the Air Force Secondary School, Makurdi as one which has attended to the educational need of more civilians than the military.

In his remarks, the Commandant, Nigeria Air Force War College, Makurdi, Air Vice Marshal Dalhat Ladan, explained that their visit was to appreciate the state government for their brotherly love, commitment, support and cooperation to the activities of the Nigerian Air Force.
