House of Representatives member for Gwer East/Gwer West Federal Constituency, Arc.Asema Achado has moved to solve the problem of insecurity in Gwer West.
Also to tackle are the prolonged issues of water scarcity and youth unemployment in the Federal constituency.
Arc Achado disclosed this in Makurdi when the Ikyaghev Development Association From Gwer West paid him a courtesy visit at his Makurdi residence.
He said towards achieving this, he has initiated seven bills, two motions and a petition in the hallowed chambers and that he was in cordial working relationship with other members of National Assembly from Benue State especially the Senator representing Benue North West, Dr. Titus Zam.
According to him, he has appealed to the Federal Government to return and resettle the Internally Displaced Persons who are presently suffering in IDP camps, before considering the proposed building of ranches.
The member of parliament pointed out that he was working closely with other critical stakeholders in the area to ensure that people of the constituency enjoy dividends of democracy.
Earlier, Chairman of Ikyaghev Development Association, Dr. Mike Uta congratulated Arc.Achado over his victories at the polls and at the tribunal and called on his constituents to support him for more democracy dividends.
Dr Uta, who expressed satisfaction with the achievements of Achado to the people of Ikyaghev and entire Tyoshin nation within a short time in the hallowed chambers said the people would maintain their support to him.
The Chairman enumerated some of the achievements recorded by the lawmaker to include, the building of a remodelled Police Station and Barracks in Naka, installation of high powered transformers in Naka, moving of motion for the declaration of state of emergency on Federal roads in Benue state as well as his stand against invasion of herders in his constituency.
In their separate remarks, Rtd Major Agbaja and Barr.Benedict Anger both assured Arc Achado of the people’s unflinching support and loyalty to enable him succeed in his task at the National Assembly.
A statement from the Legislative Aide to Arc Asema Achado, Fred Kaakyenge also stated that Barr John Igbabon while delivering the vote of thanks described Architect Achado as a worthy in-law to the Ikyaghev people and appealed to him to attract more Federal Presence to Gwer West.
Meanwhile, Hon Arc Achado is offering himself for service in the position of the National President of the Mount Saint Gabriel’s Old Boys Association which election holds this Saturday in Makurdi.
Arc Achado who stated that he has “unwavering desire to serve and give back to society despite his schedules as federal lawmaker”, presents a 5- point manifesto for members’ consideration.
The areas are: general welfare of all Old boys, enhanced infrastructural growth and provision of instructional materials, cordial working relationship with school proprietor, strengthening relationship with government and other donor agencies and develop alumni website as hub for communication and networking.”
According to him,” I believe that nurturing and supporting our secondary school alma mater is a collective responsibility that we all share “.#
