Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, has extended construction of township and rural roads to Gboko, the traditional headquarters of Tiv nation.

Information obtained from the Special Assistant to Governor Alia on social media, Mr. Asortar James Asortar revealed that, no fewer than four roads will wear a new look in the first phase of the construction and the contractor, Sunlink Construction Limited, has since been mobilized to site.

The Voice gathered that reconstruction and dualization of Captain Downes road, which is 4.60 KM long, linking Bristow Roundabout with Lubona Junction commenced last Thursday.

One of the construction equipment already at the site for onward commencement of work.

Other roads earmarked for reconstruction include: NKST Anzwar Street, linking Captain Downes road with New road; Chief Tsar Adi road connecting New Road with Buter settlement as well as Tom Ahar – Tom Atar road, measuring 0.553KM, 2.62KM and 4.11KM respectively, The Voice learnt.
