Another Benue lawmaker dumps APC for PDP

Member representing Katsina-Ala West Constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly, Jacob Orban on Monday evening, officially met with the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom to express his intention to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) and reunite with his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nathaniel Ikyur in a post on facebook, disclosed that Orban was led by the Katsina-Ala Council Chairman, Alfred Atera.

According to the post, also on the entourage included some elders and executive officers of the APC at the ward level across the constituency.

“Governor Ortom in a brief remark commended the decision of Katsina-Ala State lawmaker to rejoin the PDP and assured him of equal opportunities at all times.

“He assured that the PDP as a party will not rest on its oars to rescue Nigeria from the barefooted APC and rebuild it for the benefits of all Nigerians,” the statement read.

A formal decamping ceremony is being worked out to receive the legislator and other members from the constituency back to the PDP at a later date.

Last month, the member representing Makurdi North Constituency, Kwagh-Kwudi Thomas defected from the APC to the PDP.
