The All Progressives Congress, APC, has appealed to Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State to extend a hand of fellowship to his major rival in the 2023 Governorship election as a sign of magnanimity.
The party made this appeal following the Supreme Court victory of Governor Alia over Hon Titus Uba today in Abuja.
APC in a message of congratulations to the governor signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Daniel Ihomon, said, “in the spirit of magnanimity and the greater good of the state extend a hand of fellowship to Rt Hon. Titus Uba of the PDP who has now exhausted all lawful means of seeking redress in the electoral process”.
“The All Progressives Congress, APC, Benue State Chapter congratulated the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia on his victory at the Supreme Court in a case instituted against him and the APC by the People’s Democratic Party and its candidate, Titus Uba”.
He said the party expressed confidence in the Nigerian judiciary for affirming that the governorship election in Benue State was free, fair, and credible and was conducted in accordance to extant laws.
According to message, the judgement also affirms the APC as a party engraved in the hearts of the people of Benue making it the people’s choice in any free contest in the state.
APC appreciated its faithful members, stakeholders and the people of Benue state for their sacrifices during the electioneering process and thanked them for remaining steadfast in their support to the party and Governor Alia.
The statement urged them to be strong and unwavering in their trust and believe in the APC-led government to deliver the dividends of democracy and to improve lives in Benue.
