Governor Samuel Ortom has said his administration will continue to place priority on security of lives and general welfare of the people.
In a Easter celebration statement made available to newsmen by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, he said the death of Jesus Christ which is the meaning of Easter is a period when Christians should draw closer to God, so they can reap from His grace and mercy in the face of adversities.
According to the statement, Governor Ortom encouraged the people of the state to sustain the support they have been giving his administration to enable it provide a greater development in various sectors of the economy.
“When the people support authorities in building a crime-free society that, the government efforts at improving the standard of living can fully be achieved,” he stated.
Governor Ortom in the statement reaffirmed the resolve of the present administration not to surrender the state to criminal elements while he assured that, the long arm of the law will certainly get the bad elements.
He expressed confidence that, the current economic and security challenges confronting Nigeria as a country would be surmounted for the country to move to the next stage of development.
Governor Ortom who urged the people of the state to continue to show love to one another as Christ Jesus taught his followers wished the people of the state and other Nigerians at home and abroad, a joyous Easter celebration.
