The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, Titus Uba has assured that, he will complete the Awajir-Oju-Obi road, if the people of the state give him the mandate to govern them in 2023.
Uba, who is the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, stated this recently when the people of Igede turned up en masse to attend a special mass at St Thomas Catholic Church, Oju in commemoration of this year’s Igede Agba New Yam festival.
“The road leading to Igede land shall be my major project because it holds the capacity to boost the economy of the area and the state in general,” he stated.
He promised to prioritise its construction, if elected as the next governor of the state in next year’s elections.
Uba, who was conferred with a Chieftaincy title as “Owowula 1 of Igede,” a title which portrays the PDP gubernatorial candidate as a ‘Shining Star of People of Igede,’ appealed to the church to sustain prayers for those in positions of authority, in order to bring God’s plans for the state and nation to fruition.
He lauded the Igede Catholic community for the honour done him while he maintained that, this year’s Igede cultural festival was special to members of the 9th Benue Assembly as it is the last they will attend before exiting, which is why they came on the eve of the festival.
Uba, on behalf of his wife, Mrs Paulina Uba, the leadership and members of the 9th Benue Assembly, extended warm felicitations to Adirahu Ny’Igede, HRH Oga Ero and the entire Igede community on this year’s cultural festival and also pledged to liaise with relevant authorities to make the Igede Agba cultural festival a state function.
