Benue delivers Otukpo General Hospital to FUHS

The delivery of the General Hospital, Otukpo to the Federal University of Health Sciences on permanent basis is the contribution of the Benue State Government for the smooth take-off of the institution.

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, made this known recently when a technical team from the Federal Ministry of Health who are in the state to assess facilities at the General Hospital, Otukpo paid him a courtesy call at the Conference Hall, Governor’s Lodge, Benue People’s House, Makurdi.

Governor Ortom who appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari and Federal Ministry of Health for approving the establishment of the institution in the state assured that the state government would do more to support the institution to stand tall in the country.

In an address, the leader of the team from the Federal Ministry of Health who is also the Director of Hospital Services, Dr Adepimpe Adebuji, expressed appreciation to Benue State Government for releasing the hospital to the new university.

“I thank the Benue State Governor for his efforts in contributing to the development of the health sector, especially in the area of capacity building of health workers,” Dr Adebuji stated.

Dr Adebuji said the team would inspect and determine if the general hospital was released to the university on a temporary or permanent basis after which a recommendation would be forwarded to the ministry for appropriate action.
