The Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Most Revd Wilfred Anagbe, has urged Tiv sons and daughters to encourage good gestures, as motivation for greater contribution to the development of society.

Bishop Anagbe gave the charge yesterday while performing the priestly ordination of eight (8) Catholic priests at the SS Peter and Paul, Aliade, in Gwer Local Government Area of Benue State.

The Bishop who was particularly happy with Arc. Asema Achado for building a great edifice as church for the people of Aliade in the diocese, called on the people to appreciate Arc. Achado for the good works he has been doing for the church and the entire community, saying, “God will bless those who do good for humanity.”

He charged the newly ordained priests to conduct themselves as good ambassadors in the Lord’s vineyard, wherever they may be called to serve.

The Bishop also advised the ordained priests to honour their priestly vows by respecting the Bishop and other clergy and to commit themselves in building the faithful family as God’s own people, even as he warned seminarians against indulging in financial impropriety, both in their immediate families and the school.

Those ordained include: Revds Francis Tesoo Atsua; Peter Aondohemba Apagher; Cyprian Teryima Akoko-Daga, VC; Omenkaalochi Victor Kizito; Tortiv Gabriel Faga; Ishima Peter Terver; Ogbeche Lawrence Oyi’ebube; and Thomas Iorngulum Apuu Abeekaa, VC.

Reacting after the ordination, Revd Francis Tersoo Atsua said he was lost of words to express his happiness that he is one among the chosen few in the priestly call.

He said he would ever be prayerful to God for strength and blessings to serve, according to the demands of the true Christian life, by remaining committed to the vows of the Catholic priesthood.
