The Benue State Government has outlined activities in commemoration of the 63rd Independence celebration of Nigeria.
Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Dr. Aondona Mkor, made this known in a statement made available to newsmen.
According to the statement, there will be Juma’a Islam prayers at the Muslim Central Mosque, Wadata, Makurdi, Benue State today, Friday 29th September 2023 at 03:00 while a symposium on Nigeria’s 63rd Independence will take place at the New Banquet Hall, Government House,Makurdi,Benue State tomorrow Saturday, 30th September, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12 Noon.
The statement further disclosed that there will be a live NTA broadcast featuring the Executive Governor of Benue State,Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia on Sunday, 1st October, 2023 from 07:40 to 8:10 am.
“There after, the Executive Governor will proceed to participate in another NTA live appearance and discussion series bothering on pertinent issues marking the commemoration of the 63rd Independence of Nigeria from 08:30am to 09:00am.
“Furthermore, Governor Alia will join the Benue State Christian Community for an interdenominational church service in commemoration of the 63rd Independence of our great nation, Nigeria. The church service will take place at Benue State Methodist Cathedral,South Bank,Wadata Makurdi, Benue State from 10:00am to 12:00 Noon on the same day.
“The commemoration of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence by the Benue State Government will be rounded up with a dinner organized by the Executive Governor on behalf of the government and people of Benue State. The dinner will hold after the church service at the New Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, Benue State at 06:00 pm,” the statement revealed.
