In a bid to ensure adequate information dissemination in Benue State and beyond, the state government is to purchase new equipment in order to reactivate the Radio Booster Stations in Katsina-Ala and Idekpa.
The Director General, Radio Benue, Mr. Terseer Mnzurghga disclosed this recently, while playing host to the President-General and members of Etulo Cultural and Community Development (ECCD) in his office.
According to him, the reactivation of these stations would help educate the masses on programmes and policies of the present administration.
He said, henceforth, news in English language on FM station would be translated into Tiv, Idoma, Igede and Etulo languages until the AM station is restored.
The Director General further stated that Radio Benue will partner with all ethnic groups in the state to foster peace and unity in the state, which according to him, are key to promoting an egalitarian society.
Earlier in his address, the President General of ECCD, Mr. Timothy Okwe appealed to the DG to employ Etulo sons and daughters into the Corporation and help showcase Etulo’s rich culture and tradition to the outside world.
Mr. Okwe prayed God to grant the Director General good health, more wisdom and physical strength to take the station to greater heights and justify the confidence reposed in him by Governor Hyacinth Alia.
In his remarks, Deacon John Atini, who is also the Marketing Manager, Benue Printing and Publishing Corporation, Publishers of The Voice newspapers assured Mr. Mnzurghga of Etulo’s total support to enable him to succeed in his new assignment.
