The Benue State Football Association, BSFA, has inaugurated a committee headed by Dominic Iorfa, to revive the defunct BCC Lions FC of Gboko in Benue State.
Performing the ceremony recently at the 2023 general congress of the association held at Eyah Hotels and Suites, Makurdi, Chairman of BSFA, Paul Edeh said the move became necessary in order to reduce the pressure on Lobi Stars FC, and by complementing their roles.
Edeh said, “I want to call for total support and commitment from football stakeholders in the state, to create the needed atmosphere for me to implement policies and programmes that would revive grassroots football, and BCC Lions FC of Gboko among other programmes, to return the glory days of football in the state.”

BSFA helmsman, who explained that BCC Lions FC which was made up of football legends and administrators who are versatile with football knowledge that would contribute positively towards achieving the set goals, said reviving the club would be beneficial to all the talented youths and coaches in the state.
Responding, chairman of the committee, Dominic Iorfa said they would work tirelessly and deliver on the mandate given them to ensure that the defunct Gboko based side was revived for the good of the talented youths to develop their talents and that of the coaches as well, for national development.

Iorfa, who is also the Vice Chairman/CEO of Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, thanked BSFA for finding them worthy of the task, adding that they would key into the laudable programmes initiated by the Edeh – led BSFA, to succeed.
Other members of the committee included, Abdul Sule who would serve as Vice Chairman, Felix Pilakyaa, Charles Iortyom, Emmanuel Abah, Moses Ukpo, and Moses Kpakor. Iorngulum Malu would serve as secretary of the committee.
