Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Titus Uba has saluted the doggedness of members of the 9th Assembly for ensuring smooth legislative processes devoid of unnecessary hiccups.
Hon. Uba stated this in a speech during plenary on Thursday to mark the end of the first sitting of the second legislative session. ” Continue on this noble path at legislation for the greater good of Benue people in order to improve their well being and bequeath legacies that would stand the test of time.
“The Assembly within the first sitting of the second legislative session, has made modest strides including processing of thirteen (13) bills, received six (6) motions and adopted nine (9) resolutions, screened and confirmed one Commissioner nominee. Thirteen (13) reports were laid before the House and eleven deliberated upon, twelve (12) communications were received and attended to, while three (3) petitions which were received are undergoing thorough legislative scrutiny,” he said
The motion to allow the House embark on recess, marking the end of the first sitting of the second legislative session 2020/2021 calendar was moved by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Godwin Edoh and seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon Bem Mngutyo
The House is expected to reconvene for the second sitting of the second legislative session on October 27th, 2020
Meanwhile, the report of the House Standing Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources on its working visit to the Benue State Swine Crop Improvement Project, Yandev was laid before the House by the Chairman, Hon. Terwase Aondoakka, representing Makurdi South Constituency
