Senior Pastor and founding president, Lordship of Christ Family Ministries Worldwide, Reverend Apostle Mtswenem Tor David, has cautioned journalists against forming tribal associations that could hinder fair reportage.
Apostle Mtswenem Tor David who led other clerics to NUJ Secretariat for intercessory prayers recently, stressed the need for government to take adequate care of the Fourth Estate of the Realm by giving them press freedom and financial support, saying everybody in the society, irrespective of religion, need journalists, adding that the society would not move on well without the media.
The cleric advised Benue journalists to eschew violence in the forthcoming council elections in order to prove that they are well informed and educated people different from what happens during elections in the wider society.
Responding, the Acting Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Martins Kajo, appreciated Apostle Tor David, whom he said, was doing well as a professional journalist with The Voice Newspaper but bowed to divine call to win souls in God’s Vineyard.
In a vote of thanks, the NUJ Secretary, Comrade Moses Akarhan, thanked the apostle and his team for the prayer visit and assured of a sustained partnership between the media and the church for peace to reign in the society.
