Benue State Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon Matthew Abo has resolved to restructure the ministry to do away with the anomalies that existed to bring back the past glory.
The Commissioner stated this last Tuesday when he had an interface with members of the NUJ, Information Chapel at the conference hall of the ministry.
He expressed dismay over certain internal complaints said such bureaucracy and warned that it should be stopped.
Hon. Abo said under his watch he cannot tolerate injustice as he will ensure that most of the wrongs are corrected and calmed those who were affected by such circumstances not to feel agitated.
He stated that the over stayed promotions of deserving staff will be released without further delay and other pending welfare issues like weigh-in-allowance will be looked into, adding that the 18 staff who were wrongly sacked as a result of government policy will be tackled at a higher quarters to bring harmony to the ministry.
In his Comment, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information, Mr Godwin Tighil said he owned up to all that happened since he is the administrative head and assured that staff will not be shortchanged in such circumstances again.
Earlier, the Chairman, NUJ Information Chapel, Comrade Ephraim Hemben highlighted their complaints including: accumulated staff promotions, weigh-in-allowance and called for the creation of a directorate system in the ministry.
He also complained about harassment of staff over posting, lost of confidential documents, denial of arrears and 18 staff of the ministry sacked because of unnecessary bureaucracy.
