The Benue State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MOICT), Monday held a thanksgiving prayer session to mark the return from captivity of Hon. Matthew Abo, the Commissioner in charge of the ministry who was recently kidnapped in his home town, Zaki-Biam, by unknown gunmen.
The prayer session featured prayers by selected Directors of the ministry and representatives of parastatals under the ministry.
This was followed by brief remarks by the commissioner, recounting his ordeal while in captivity
He expressed appreciation to God for seeing him through “the tough experience” in the hands of the kidnappers and ensuring that he regained his freedom
Hon. Abo also expressed appreciation to Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and his entire government for efforts to ensure his release.
He then thanked the staff of the ministry and its parastatals as well as other groups for their support and prayers while his ordeal lasted
The Commissioner expressed the hope that, by the grace of God his ordeal will help solve the security situation in the Sankera area of the state.
He announced that he was back to work, and urged staff to put in their best in the performance of their duties.
