Idoma Youth in Benue State, under the aegis of Idoma National Youth Development Forum (INYDF), has lauded a businessman, Jimoh Gbadamosi, for his developmental drive aimed at addressing the infrastructural deficit in Otukpo, the ancestral headquarters of the Idoma nation.
The Voice learnt that Gbadamosi has provided solar streetlights to Otukpo and is currently constructing some roads in the town.
Speaking with The Voice in Otukpo, recently, the leader of the group, Ngbede Ofoine, said his group was elated when they discovered the works of Gbadamosi while they were on tour of the metropolis recently.
“On getting to Kanas Lane, we discovered the ongoing road construction covering Kanas Lane, Sargent George among others. The construction is standard, protected by concrete drainages on both sides.
“The work is solely sponsored by this patriotic and a burden bearer young man, Jimoh Rauf Gbadamasi. He neither resides in Otukpo nor hails from Idoma. He is a Yoruba man who once lived here as young man. No connection more than that,” Ofoine stated.
The youth leader revealed that it was when they met with the project supervisor, one Alhaji Abdulahi Suleiman, that they got the details of the project and the person behind it.
According to him, they were informed that prior to the road construction, the same Jimoh Gadamosi had single-handedly electrified the metropolis through the supply and mounting of solar panels covering about 20 streets.
“All we Idoma Youth (INYDF) have to offer is to pray for Jimoh for the great works he is doing for the Idoma nation without asking for anything in return. We pray fervently to Almighty God for him and his family’s safety, good health and long life”.
The INYDF leader also used the opportunity to challenge Idoma sons and daughters both home and abroad to rise to their responsibilities by contributing their quota to the development of Idoma land and Benue State.
He frowned at the attitude of Benue people leaving every development for the government, saying, “Government cannot do it alone.”
The Voice gathered that the man, Jimo Gadamosi, is the Founder and Chief Executive of JRB Solar Investment Limited, based in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
