Caretaker Committee Chairman of Gwer Local Government Council, Mrs Comfort Agbo has promised to leave indelible marks in her stay in office.
She made the pledge while receiving handover notes from the Director General Services and Administration/Acting Chairman, Barrister Sunday Ogbaji Udanyi at the council headquarters in Aliade.
According to a statement signed and made available to The Voice by the Information Officer of the local government, Mr. Christopher Avi, the caretaker chairman called on staff as well as stakeholders of the local government to join hands with her to make her administration great.
She maintained that staff welfare would be boosted and called on staff of the council to cooperate with her administration to achieve success, adding that they would be carried along in all her dealings.
Agbo praised the DGSA for holding brief as Acting Chairman of the local government, saying that she would always consult him were necessary.
She expressed gratitude to God, Governor Hyacinth Alia and Gwer East APC stakeholders for finding her worthy to serve in the capacity of Caretaker Chairman of the council and promised to justify the confidence reposed in her.
Earlier in his handover address, the Director General Services and Administration, Gwer East Local Government Council, Barr. Udanyi enumerated some challenges associated with the office, saying that he was convinced that the Caretaker Chairman, as woman of proven integrity, would surmount the challenges.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor of Benue State for giving him the opportunity to serve as Acting Chairman.
Barrister Udanyi, who acknowledged the cooperation he enjoyed from staff, urged them to extend same to the Caretaker Chairman to do more for the people.
In their separate remarks, the DPO in charge of Gwer East Division, Sp Samuel Igba and the Mue-Ter Ngyohov, Chief John Wunde, Head of Personnel Administration, Mr. Peter Anjeke all pledged their support to the Caretaker chairman.
