Lead counsel to Sam Ode Esq, Mike Osuman (SAN), has urged the Benue State governorship Election Petition Tribunal to dismiss the petition of Hon Titus Ubah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate in the February, 2023 governorship election in the state.
Mike Osuman (SAN) stated this during the adoption of the final written addresses before the tribunal. As according to him, “What is presented before the tribunal by the PDP is just a lousy petition that lack ingredients of probative evidence”.
He further described PDP’s petition as ” pedestrian ” that required no evidence, especially after the cross examination of their key witnesses which further devastated and complicated their case therefore clearing the coast for his client, His Excellency Sam Ode Esq.
It will be recalled that, Hon Titus Ubah and PDP as a party had earlier approached the tribunal on three points argument seeking among others, the invalidation of Alia/Ode victory at the February, 2023 governorship election in the state, stating that, the Deputy Governor, Sam Ode Esq submitted false documents to INEC; that APC also submitted list of candidates to INEC outside the stipulated time frame of the electoral law and thirdly, that certificates submitted by the Deputy Governor were forged.
