A former Member, House of Representatives, who represented Shendam, Mikang/Quanpan Federal Constituency from Plateau State, Mr Leonard Dilkon, has said the ongoing COVID-19 funds allegedly been given to Nigerians to cushion negative effect of COVID-19 on citizens is a scam.
“I challenge the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to produce names of beneficiaries of the COVID-19 funds; as far as I am concerned, no one has benefited from the funds.”
The former lawmaker made his opinion public in an interview with journalists in Jos, Plateau State recently, shortly after he delivered a public lecture at the Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
Speaking on insecurity, the former lawmaker called on government to investigate and unravel those providing fake military and police uniforms with sophisticated weapons to bandits.
He lamented that criminals are extorting innocent citizens of their hard earned money through tax collection, some on the highways, without commiserate effect on development.
On lack of employment among Nigerian youths, Mr Dilkon called on Nigerians to indulge in other vocations, rather than their chosen career, he urged Nigerians to engage in agriculture, particularly farming.
Mr Dilkon who is a farmer blamed the current hike in prices of foodstuffs to inhuman treatment of business men to buyers.
He tasked Nigerian doctors to widen their scope beyond medical profession, and find solution to insecurity in and around hospitals, particularly when treating persons suspected to be bandits.
