Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Titus Uba has said Nigeria is confronted with several security and financial challenges, however, democracy remains the best administration.
He made this known Sunday, through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Wuese Orshi in felicitating with Governor Samuel Ortom, His deputy, Engr Benson Abounu and the Benue people on the occasion of the 2022 Democracy Day celebration.
“The Speaker congratulates Governor Ortom on the successful attainment of his 7th year in office and expresses optimism that the remaining year will equally be eventful and full of dividends for the people,” the statement read.
According to Uba, the governor’s efforts in steering the affairs of the state, despite the challenging security situation are sources of motivation that merit commendation from all and sundry.
The speaker also lauded the commitment of his colleagues in the state Assembly, while he noted that the success story of the state will not be complete without reference to their selfless contributions and commitment.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) guber standard bearer in the state noted that though the country is facing increased spate of insecurity and economic challenges, democracy remains the best practice of administration compared to military dictatorship and other systems of government.
He appreciated the leadership and members of PDP for the mandate given him to fly the party’s flag in next year’s governorship election and pledged his commitment to meeting expectations of the people, if elected.
