The Chief Imam of Nasco Fible Mosque, Sheikh Khalid Adam, has charged Muslim faithful to demonstrate love and peace to one another as they mark Eid-el-Kabir.
The cleric, who made the call Saturday, during a sermon at the mosque, appealed to Muslims across Nigeria, and particularly those in Plateau State to live peacefully with their non Muslim neighbours as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
He called on people occupying elective positions to make life meaningful, more easier than the current economic hardship been experienced.
Sheikh Adam noted with regret, the increasing insecurity and condemned the recent attacks on the advance convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari.
During the sermon, the Islamic cleric also charged parents and guardians, whose children have attained the age of 18, to endeavour to advise them to obtain their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs). He said it will enable them also participate in the choice of next leaders of the country at various levels.
Similarly, Member, House of Representatives for Pankshin, Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in Plateau State, Yusuf Gagdi, also called on Muslim faithful to demonstrate love and peace to their neighbours while celebrating this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
Gagdi made the appeal in an interview with journalists, shortly before he embarked on visitation of family friends and political associates felicitating with citizens to mark the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
According to the legislator, Eid-el-Kabir is a religious celebration, that makes the love exhibited by God to mankind, through the sacrifices offered by Adam to Allah unconditionally.
On his part, the Jos North Council Chairman, Usman Bala, also urged Muslim faithful to be mindful of the significant and spiritual aspect of the celebration.
Bala, who made this call in an interview with journalists after performing the slaughtering of ram at his residence, sued for peaceful co-existence among citizens of the state.
He solicited for the cooperation of citizens to live in peace with one another, irrespective of religious difference.
He assured that management of the council, in collaboration with security agencies have made adequate security of lives and property, during and after the religious celebration.
