FIFA World Cup Qater 2022: Super Eagles face Black Stars

Already the dark clouds are thickening without kicking the ball as Nigeria is set to rekindles 71 year old football rivalries between the two West African Football giants. The two countries are to battle for a single ticket among the pairs to represent Africa at the 2022 FIFA world cup in Qatar.      

The Voicesports monitored the draws in Yaounde report that the Black Stars will host the first leg in Accra, Ghana on March 24 and return leg in Nigeria on March 26,2022  respectively.

Other fixtures indicates that Egypt will host Senegal, Cameroon will engage Algeria, DR Congo faces Morocco and Mali would square up Tunisia on same date , while the reverse encounters are slated to hold on similar dates March 27-29,2022.

Two African soccer Legends El Haji Diof of Senegal and Emmanuel Adebayor of Benin Republic participate in the draws conducted by CAF Director of communications, Samson Adamu in Cameroon in the on going AFCON tournament.

Nigeria emerged group winners that comprised of Cape Verde, Central African Republic, and Liberia to be eligible for the play off. Ghana had Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and prevailed over South Africa 1-0 on the final day in an explosive and controversial duel in Cape Coast.

According to the president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick “Ghana is a great Football nation, they are just going through a bad patch, but it doesn’t make them a bad side, we will go all out, Pinnick assured.”

The two West African Football power Nations CV crashes out of African cup of Nations holding in Cameroon, Ghana crashed out in the group phases, while Nigeria bowed out in the round of 16 to the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

Nigeria is seeking for her seventy world cup berth, Nigeria made her debut at the USA ’94; while Ghana boast of three FIFA world cup appearances and will host the first of the two legs.
