Management of Vaatia College, Makurdi, have said four (4) of the students that were affected by a strange illness which broke out in the school have fully recovered, even as they wish the remainder a quick recovery.

Principal of the school, Michael Vaatia, in a press release stated that the school holds in high esteem, the welfare of its staff and students and will not relent to do the needful when their well-being is at stake.

The statement reads in part: “The Management of the College also had a meeting with representatives of the Public Health Emergency Operations Center (E.O.C), Medical Consultants with the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Madonna Hospital, W.H.O, and UNICEF.

“The health and welfare of members of the College community remains top priority of Vaatia College. We wish all affected students a speedy recovery.

“The Committee advised the College to go on a break while learning continues online. This is to allow for a thorough investigation and implement recommended actions based on findings,” it concluded.

Recall that 8 students of the school were on Tuesday 16 February, 2021 reported to have been infected with a strange illness which led to the immediate closure of the school by the Benue State government.
