The Catholic Diocese of Makurdi has released burial arrangement of one of her oldest serving priests, Revd Fr Michael Murphy, CSSp.

A statement signed by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Revd Fr Jude Ortese, CSSp, says the burial would hold on Tuesday December 6, 2022 at St Dominick’s High School, Tse-Ayu, Makurdi.

According to Fr Ortese, there would be an all night Christian wake on Monday December 5, at St Dominic Catholic Church, Shachi with the first vigil Mass starting at 6:00pm.

The statement also said that at 7:00am on Tuesday, the late Fr Murphy’s body would be conveyed to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral for preparatory ceremonies before the final interment at Tse-Ayu.

Revd Fr Murphy died on Monday November 28, 2022 at Bishop Murray Medical Centre, Makurdi at the age of 90.
