FRSC set to flag-off ember month campaign

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), is to flag-off this year’s ember month sensitization campaign in Makurdi on the 5th of November with other parts of the state following subsequently.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Benue State Command, Corps Commander Aliyu Baba disclosed this when he and the Sector Intelligent Officer, Superintendent Route Commander, Itsoga Daniel paid the General Manager, Benue Printing and Publishing Corporation, Makurdi, publishers of The Voice Newspaper a courtesy visit to solicit the partnership of The Voice Newspaper.
The Sector Commander stated that We need people to help us blow our trumpet; We are here to seek the partnership of The Voice for adequate coverage of our activities. People need to know about safety measures in order to reduce crashes on our roads. With your support the enlightenment campaigns of the Corps will reach a lot of people.
Safety business is everybody’s business; We are either affected directly or indirectly. We record unavoidable crashes on the roads due to the actions of people who do not respect the rules. The command is doing everything possible to get road users to respect the rules.
Responding, the General Manager, Benue Printing and Publishing Corporation, Makurdi, Mr. Ben Agande assured the Federal Road Safety Corps of the Partnership of The Voice Newspaper to ensure that the Corps succeeds in her activities
Mr. Agande said for those of us who ply the roads every day, issues of safety are of serious importance to us. It has to be everybody’s business. The Voice Newspaper will give you the needed coverage to enable you achieve the desired result in your sensitization exercise”
He appealed to the Sector Commander to focus more on commercial drivers, saying most of them engage in dangerous driving and overload their vehicles which leads to more casualties each time crashes occurs.
Also present at the courtesy call were the Editor of The Voice Newspaper, Mr Terlumun Nyifian and the Acting Admin. Manager Brenda Iorhemba.
