The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has announced the appointment of Prof. Shehu Abdur-Rahman as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of the University.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the University, Emeritus Professor, Munzali Jibril disclosed this Tuesday in Lafia.
“The appointment followed a painstaking selection process. We hope that the appointee will justify the confidence reposed in him by sustaining the peace and development of the University,” he said.
Before his appointment, Prof. Abudur-Rahman was the Director, Centre for Agricultural Research and Development (CARD) and Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Federal University of Lafia.
He is also the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State.
Prof. Abdur-Rahman who hails from Umaisha, in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State had served as the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Nasarawa State University Keffi, (NSUK) as well as a deputy vice-chancellor.
The professor of agriculture economics and extension would take over from Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman in February 2021 as the new Vice-Chancellor.
