The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia),Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman has approved the appointment of Professor Okpeh Okpeh ( Jnr) as Director, Centre for Leadership Studies, of the university.
Okpeh, who is the immediate past Dean, Faculty of Arts of the university is a professor of African History.
Prof. Abdul Rahman also appointed Professor Muhammad Tanko Aliyu to replace Prof. Okpeh, Jnr as the Dean, Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Joseph Ezekiel Obuje, a lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies to serve as the deputy dean of faculty.
The VC also appointed Dr. Muhammad Alkali as the Acting Dean of Faculty of Management Science, while Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim Jaji was reappointed as the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Agriculture.
Also appointed was Professor Abdullahi Jibrin Dan’asabe, as Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, with Dr Okwanya Innocent to serve as his deputy while Professor Victor Dugga was reappointed as the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies of the institution.
The VC also appointed other directors and Heads of Departments (HODs), they included; Professor Ozegya Abu Egwa as the Director of Centre for Disability Studies, with Dr. Adaka Terfa Ahon as the Deputy Director while Professor Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu was appointed as the substantive Director of Muhammadu Buhari TETFund Centre of Excellence (MBTCE).
Professor Bassi Ibrahim Garba was appointed as the substantive Head of the Department of Mathematics, while Mrs. Helen Bello retained her position as the Head of Staff Productivity and Promotion Unit, even as Prof. Muhammad Tanko Aliyu emerged as the Head of Department of Islamic Studies.
Dr Loveday Chigozie Onyezonwu was reappointed as the Head of Department of Christian Religious Studies and Dr Amos Ambo Idzi reappointed as the Acting Director of Internalisation Desk of the university while Dr. Idris Muhammad Idris was appointed Acting Head of Arabic Studies Department.
Others reappointed HODs included: Dr Kyegh Aov Thaddeus, as the Acting Head Department of History and International Studies, while Dr Paul Terngu Haaga was retained as the Acting Head of Department of Philosophy of the institution.
