The Niger State Governor, Umar Mohammed Bago, has preached peaceful coexistence, tolerance and patience during the wedding fatiha of the daughter of the Director-General of his campaign in the last governorship election, Alhaji Isah Sidi-Rijau, in Minna.
The Governor, who made this known through his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, advised the couple to always trust and stand by each other at all times.
The wedding fatiha held Saturday at the Sheikh Nafui’s Mosque, Sauka-Hauta, between Masauda Sidi and Anas Graba, has the governor as the father of the bride.
“I want to advised the couple to live in peace and be patient with each other, they should love each other, as our tradition in Islam demands,” the governor said.
In his remarks, father of the bride, Alhaji Isah Sidi-Rijau, expressed happiness for giving out his first daughter in marriage and advised the couple to be patient, fair and loyal to each other, as well as not to allow any third party in their affairs.
In their separate remarks, members representing Magama/Rijau Federal Constituency, Alhaji Shehu Rijau, and that representing Rijau Constituency in the Niger State House of Assembly, described the father of the bride as “a brother and boss and wished the couple a happy married life.”
The lawmakers advised the couple to manage themselves and be patient with one another.
Also, a former Chairman of Borgu, Local Government Area, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman, said marriage needs peace and endurance and urged the couple to be patient with one another, as well as manage themselves well in order to have a successful marriage.
The Voice reports that the sum of One Hundred Thousand Nair (N100,000) was paid as the dowry.
