Governor Samuel Ortom has described the attack on the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Benue State Chapter, Comrade Abba Yaro by some hoodlums as uncalled for and unacceptable.
The Benue State Governor, who visited the Chairman Monday at his residence in Makurdi, after the hoodlums attacked him as a result of the electrocution and death of one of his house help, who was trimming tree branches within the premises.
Governor Ortom condemned the hoodlums for destroying property at the residence and advised youths to shun violent acts but to seek the due process of addressing their grievances, especially by reporting to the security agencies rather than take to jungle justice.
The governor also condoled the family of the deceased and called on them to take solace In the will of God.
Responding, Comrade Abba Moro said, his house help woke up this morning and insisted on trimming tree branches that were intercepting with electric cables, while he warned him not to do that, the young man later went and started working and the live cables electrocuted him to death.
Comrade Yaro thanked the governor for the prompt visit, even though, they had different political affiliation, describing him as a great leader, with wonder leadership qualities and commended the Nigeria Police Force for their quick intervention to douse the tension.
He added that, the hoodlums destroyed several properties, but no other life was lost.
