Governor Samuel Ortom has condemned the gruesome murder of Rev. Fr Ferdinand Ngugban.
Late Rev. Fr. Ngugban who was killed Tuesday by unknown gunmen was the Priest in Charge of St Paul’s Catholic Church, Aye -Twar village, Centre Agu in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, he described the attack as mindless and wonders why a harmless priest would become the target of armed men.
Governor Ortom reassured the people of Katsina Ala and Sankera in general that, the state government will not relent until those responsible for the killing and attacks in that part of the state are brought to justice. He reaffirmed the resolve of his administration not to handover the state to criminals .
“I urge Benue people to continue to support security operatives with timely and useful information,” he stated.
The governor sympathises with the bereaved family and prayed God to grant the soul of Rev. Fr. Ngugban eternal rest.
