Governor Samuel Ortom has decorated some of the security operative attached to him with their newly promoted ranks with a charge for them to redouble their efforts for peace and security of lives.
Among the promoted security operatives are the Governor’s Aide De Camp (ADC), Assistant Superintendent of Police, Terwase Nyipila who is now promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police and the Governor’s Orderly, Inspector Jeremiah Avungu who is promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
Others are 10 security operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) five Police Officers and one female officer from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Performing the ceremony Monday at the Benue People’s House, Makurdi, Governor Ortom urged the newly promoted security officers to step up their commitment to curbing insecurity in Benue State caused by the armed Fulani herdsmen and bandits across the country.
“Your new promotion should be your motivating factor, in order to ensure maximum commitment to the security of lives and property of the citizenry,’ he encouraged.
Governor Ortom who was acccompanied by the recently promoted Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Muhammed Mukkadas in decorating the promoted officers said, the insecurity in the country and Benue state in particular called for all hands to be on deck, in order to curb it.
He congratulated them and prayed God to uplift them to the pinnacle of their service.
Responding separately, for the Nigeria Police Force, the governor’s ADC, DSP Terwase Nyipila and Department of Security Services, John Jacob, assured of their commitment to do excellently for the utmost peace and security of lives and property of the people.
