Governor Samuel Ortom has affirmed his administration’s readiness to empower artistes in the State to be more relevant in society.
The Benue State Governor who made this known recently, at the wedding reception of his cousin, Kenneth Anya and his wife, Mrs Marvis Anya (Nee Uban) at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Square, Makurdi stated that his administration will organise a musical concert for artistes soonest, to showcase their talent.
Speaking to the couple, the governor called on them to continue to keep the bedrock of the marriage on Christ who is the author and finisher of everything.
He thanked all for attending the wedding, and prayed God to bless them for their contributions toward the success of the wedding.
On his part, the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Hon.Titus Uba represented by Member representing Makurdi South Constituency, Hon.Terwase Aondoakaa said marriage is an age long institution established by God as he called on the couple to build their marriage through Christ, as well as work through perseverance and endurance for a successful married life.
In an address, the Chairman of the Occasion, Mr Andrew Ayabam, called on the new couple to live together in the fear of God, love and peace.
On her part, the Chairman, Vandeikya LGA, Hon. Kukase Garba who spoke on behalf of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) charged the couple to settle their problems amongst themselves and not involve a third party.
Earlier, in a homily, Reverend Fr Solomon Ujah called on the couple to place Christ first in their wedlock as well as work together with parents for a peaceful wedlock.
