Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Media and Publicity, Terver Akase has said his principal was not involved in accident as widely reported.
Akase, in a statement on Sunday said Governor Ortom has since arrived United Kingdom (UK) where he is to participate in a summit.
The statement read: “We have received numerous calls from concerned Nigerians regarding the accident which occurred today near Karu Flyover in Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory.
“The Governor’s convoy was on the way from Abuja to Makurdi after accompanying him to the airport for his trip to United Kingdom when a golf car collided with one of the security vehicles.
“We thank God that no life was lost in the incident.
“Governor Ortom, who has already arrived safely in the UK, deeply appreciates all the calls and concerns from Benue people and other Nigerians.”
Meanwhile, Governor Ortom will be a Special Guest at two international summits this week in the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA).
The events will focus on peace-building, social justice and sustainable development in Nigeria, as well as other parts of the world.
The governor disclosed this on Sunday in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Terver Akase.
According to the statement, the summit in the UK which commences tomorrow, Monday July 4, 2022, was put together by the Gideon and Funmi Para-Mallam Peace Foundation, while that in the USA is organized by the International Committee on Nigeria (ICON).
