Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Wednesday at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi presented official vehicles to 23 leaders of the legislative council in the state.
He explained that the vehicles will facilitate the operations of the legislative leaders at the local government and disclosed that the deputy chairmen of the various local government areas will soon get their official vehicles.
He urged the legislative leaders to use the vehicles well, stating that at the end of their tenure, the vehicles becomes theirs, while expressing optimism that, going forward, their operations will be better.
Earlier, in a remark, Special Adviser to the governor on local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Ken Achabo expressed appreciation to Governor Ortom for sustaining the policy of providing government functionaries with vehicles to enhance smooth service delivery.
Responding on behalf of other legislative leaders, Leader, Oju Local Government Legislative Council, Matthew Ede, who hails Okpokpo council ward thanked the governor for the gift of the official vehicles and assured him of judicious use.
