Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has condemned the gruesome murder of the State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Mohammed Hussein and his counterpart in Toto Local Government Area, Mohammed Umar by unknown gunmen.
Governor Sule who expressed sadness over the incident however, cautioned against reprisal attacks capable of worsening situations.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Addra, the governor spoke when he attended the funeral prayers for the State Chairman of MACBAN, late Alhaji Hussein.
The governor promised to work with security agencies to arrest and prosecute criminal elements disturbing the peace in the state, calling on those bent on breaching the peace enjoyed in the state to turn a new leaf for the development of the society.
He sympathised with families of the deceased, urging them to remain faithful and take solace in God, even as he assured of his administration’s commitment towards providing adequate security to the people of the state.
It would be recalled that gunmen suspected to be bandits on Friday attacked and killed the State Chairman, MACBAN and Chairman of the association in Toto LGA at a Market in Garaku, Kokona LGA of the state.
