Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has expressed sadness over the unfortunate accident that claimed the lives of some political party supporters with others injured in Lafia, the state capital.
The Voice earlier reported that six persons died in an auto crash involving the convoy of the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Lafia during his visit to the state at the weekend.
In a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Addra, Governor Sule described the loss of lives of citizens under such circumstances as lamentable, urging caution at all times.
“Engr Abdullahi Sule conveyed his condolences to the families and friends of the bereaved as well as the leadership of the NNPP at the state and National levels.
“He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed while wishing those injured a speedy recovery,” the statement concluded.
