Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has expressed deep pains and sadness over the death of his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji Murtala Lamus (Dokajin Wamba), who died on Tuesday in Lafia.
Sule, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Addra described the deceased as his long time friend and ally, who was a quiet but consummate politician and grass roots mobiliser.
The governor also described the late Lamus as a patriotic citizen whose love for the state and humanity was not in question.
Sule, who expressed sadness over the sudden demise of his special adviser and friend, said it came to him as a rude shock.
The governor visited the family, condoled with them, urging them to take consolation in the fact that he lived a worthy life as exemplified by testimonies of the people.
He prayed God to grant the soul of late Lamus eternal rest and give his family, friends and associates the fortitude to bear the loss.
In a related development, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, representing Nasarawa South at the National Assembly has expressed grief over the death of Alhaji Lamus.
A state issued on Tuesday by Press Secretary to Sen. Al-Makura, Mr Danjuma Joseph, described the deceased as a friend, brother and associate, whose positive advices and political contributions will be greatly missed.
“I have no doubt that not just his family or Wamba community and APC, but also the state will dearly miss this seasoned politician and fine gentleman, whose contributions to the development of the state have been invaluable,” he said.
He, therefore, condoled with his immediate family, the people of Wamba Local Government Area and the entire state and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Voice reports that the late special adviser has been buried in his home town in Wamba and the burial was attended by Governor Sule, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd), among others.
