The Lafia Unity and Progressive Forum and Lafia Progressive Forum have condemned in strong terms an alleged unguarded utterance against Governor Abdullahi Sule by the former Nasarawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader, Mr Muhammadu Barde in a video currently circulating on social media.

The viral video allegedly produced by Mr Barde,  claimed that Lafia Local Government Area  provides the highest number of votes during elections but  was yet under represented in government, calling on the people of the area to rise against the injustice done by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

However, at a joint press conference held recently at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Lafia, the spokesperson of the two groups, Mr Dahiru Musa, said the producer of the alleged video, was speaking for himself and not for the entire people of Lafia or their opinion.

According to him, the content was a figment of the imaginations of its producer and should be disregarded by the general public.

He said that Lafia LGA was fully represented in the Sule led administration through the appointments of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and three commissioners among other positions and wondered why someone would accuse the governor of injustice.

“What is most unfortunate and very disturbing is his claim to the fact that he was speaking on behalf of the good and peace loving people of Lafia Local Government Area.

“We hereby categorically state that the good people of Lafia LGA strongly condemn the said video, its content and the use of our names to gain cheap popularity. We therefore, distance ourselves from everything the video represents.

“The good people of Lafia LGA highly appreciate the generosity of governor Sule’s led administration, fair distribution of appointment and developmental projects across all local governments,” he said.

He called on the people of Lafia and  the entire citizens of the state to continue to support the governor to enable him succeed.
