The Government Secondary School (GSS) North Bank Old Boys Association (set 98) has lauded Governor Hyacinth Alia for appointing its Vice President, Mr Simon Unongo as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Makurdi, Benue State by the set’s President, Blessing Ekanem and Head Boy, Mr Kukeng Vitalis.
According to the statement, the choice of Unongo to be the Guma LGA caretaker Chairman by Governor Alia was an affirmation of the governor’s quest to reposition the third tier of government was achievable given the administrative prowess of the appointee.
The statement described Unongo as an astute politician cum seasoned administrator who has been result oriented right from his formation age in the secondary school.
It therefore commended the governor for opting for the best hands particularly for finding the appointee who is a member of their association worthy to help return the local government back to its lost glory.
It expressed optimism that, Unongo who has the grasp of the grassroots, would not fail his principal and Guma people his given assignment.
“We therefore urge you to deploy your reservoir of experience as an administrative staff of the Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi ,where you have been serving for sometime to invest in the new appointment.
“Finally, we pray God to grant you sound health, protection, knowledge and wisdom to succeed in reshaping the local government administration,” the statement added.
It concluded by assuring him of their continued support and that Governor Alia would follow through on his noble objectives of providing the Benue people with the benefits of democracy.
